The Moment That Changed My Dream

Sometimes a single moment can change the direction of your life
For me that moment happened when I was very young and honestly completely unexpected.
Hi, I’m Bhavik and I hope you can relate to a part of my journey
Growing up I wasn’t really the kind of student who was great at studies Like many people my age I was still trying to figure out what I truly wanted to do in life
Aviation always fascinated me I loved traveling and watching airplanes but back then I never seriously thought that becoming a pilot could actually be my path ✈️
One day my family and I went on a trip to Chandigarh and we were staying at the Taj. I remember standing in a long line at the reception waiting for our room check-in. After waiting for quite some time, finally my turn was about to come. Just then, the receptionist politely asked me to move aside and said, “Sir, please let the pilots check in first, they have priority.”
At that moment, I was honestly a little surprised 😳 I had also been waiting in the same line like everyone else. But seeing the respect and priority that the pilots were getting made me think differently. I remember standing there and thinking to myself, “Who are these people that everyone respects so much?”
That small moment stayed in my mind.
From that day, I became curious about aviation. I started thinking more seriously about what pilots do and what it takes to become one. Somewhere around 8th standard, I made a decision in my mind I want to become a pilot, no matter what.
From that point onward, my mindset changed. Even though studies were not my strongest area earlier, I started taking them more seriously because I knew they were important for my goal. Slowly, things improved and I managed to score good marks in both my 10th and 12th.
But after finishing 12th grade, I faced another big challenge I had no idea where to start. There was almost no guidance around me about how to actually become a pilot.
After doing a lot of research and asking people around, one of my friend told me about doing a Class 2 medical as the first step. So the first thing I did was visit a clinic to complete my Class 2 medical since that’s where the aviation journey usually begins. That visit actually became another important turning point for me.
There I met a retired pilot who guided me and explained the proper path. He told me about the steps involved and also suggested Kitty Hawk Ground Classes by Captain Arvind Bhatt in Pune. That’s where I slowly started understanding the entire aviation pathway ground school, exams, medicals, and flight training.
Things finally started making sense.
Around the same time, something unexpected happened in my life social media.
One day I randomly posted a video using an Instagram template. I didn’t expect anything from it. For the first five or six days, nothing happened. Hardly any reach.
But on the seventh day, the video suddenly went viral and now it has around 30 million views.
That moment completely changed another part of my journey. People started messaging me, asking questions about aviation and becoming a pilot. Some were surprised seeing someone my age pursuing this path, and many students said they felt inspired.
That’s when I realized something important.
When I was trying to start my aviation journey, I struggled a lot because I didn’t have the right guidance. So I decided that through my content, I would try to share whatever knowledge and experience I had so that other aspiring pilots don’t feel as lost as I once did.
Today, my journey is still ongoing. I’m still learning, still growing, and still moving step by step toward the cockpit.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: Sometimes destiny changes through the smallest moments.
You just need to notice them, believe in your dream, and keep moving forward.
Because once you truly decide what you want, the path slowly starts appearing.
For me, that small moment in a hotel lobby became the runway where my aviation journey began✈️
