My Aviation Journey: A Dream That Refused to Give Up

Some dreams start quietly. Mine started when I was just 10 years old.

While most kids were still figuring out what they liked, I knew exactly what fascinated me the most — airplanes. Every time I looked up at the sky and saw an aircraft passing by, something inside me felt different. I didn’t just want to watch airplanes. I wanted to be inside the cockpit one day.

Years passed, but that dream never left me.

After completing my 12th grade, I finally decided to take the first real step toward aviation. I started my ground classes and began preparing for the journey to become a pilot. Everything felt like it was finally moving in the right direction.

But life had a different test waiting for me.

When I went for my pilot medical examination, the doctor told me something I was not prepared to hear — because of some medical issues, I might not be able to become a pilot.

In that moment, it felt like everything collapsed.

A dream I had carried for years felt like it had disappeared in just a few seconds. I remember having a complete breakdown. It felt like I had lost something that meant everything to me.

Those words changed everything.

Instead of giving up, I decided to fight for my dream. I stepped away from everything else and focused completely on my health for the next six months. It wasn’t easy. It required patience, discipline, and a lot of faith.

I simply trusted the process and trusted God.

And then something amazing happened.

After those six months of hard work and determination, I cleared both my Class 2 and Class 1 medical examinations. The same dream that once felt impossible suddenly felt real again.

From there, I continued working toward the next milestone. I cleared my DGCA exams and eventually moved to the United States to start my flight training.

But the journey still had more challenges waiting.

During my training, the flying school I was enrolled in shut down, leaving many students stranded and uncertain about what would happen next. It was another moment where everything felt unstable again.

Fortunately, I was able to transfer to another flying school, continue my training, and complete what I had started.

Eventually, I successfully completed my Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

After finishing my training, I returned to India and went through the process of license conversion, turning my international training into an Indian CPL.

Looking back now, this journey was far from easy.

There were moments of doubt, setbacks, and unexpected obstacles. But there were also moments of growth, courage, and faith that shaped me into the person I am today.

One thing that makes this journey even more special to me is that no one in my family comes from an aviation background. I am the first one to step into this field, learning everything from scratch and navigating this path step by step.

But that’s exactly what makes the journey so beautiful.

It taught me that dreams don’t require a background.

They require belief, persistence, and the courage to keep going even when things get difficult.

My aviation journey is not just about becoming a pilot.

It’s about learning that giving up is never the only option.

If there is one thing I have learned through this entire experience, it is this:

Never give up on a dream that truly belongs to you.
